He Loves The Broken Hearted

He Loves The Broken Hearted

from 16.00

While reading in 3 Nephi 8, it occurred to me that God loved broken things. Ever since the beginning of the Book of Mormon, it was prophesied that Jesus Christ would come to Earth. The Nephites may have not known it then, but they (those who were lucky enough to survive) did now as they looked around to see large cities, paved roads, and everything else was destroyed.  //

Surely, this must have been the most trying moment in their lives. I honestly can’t even imagine losing everything, even loved ones, only to be left in the space of darkness for three days. My heart aches for this group of survivors, however, through the thick clouds of darkness, a small opening of light appears and a voice from Heaven proclaims, “O all ye that are spared because ye were more righteous than they, will ye not now return unto me, and repent of your sins, and be converted, that I may heal you?” //

Those three days of horror were not the end of the their story... rather, it was a new beginning. Had they had not clung onto whatever hope remained within them, they wouldn’t have seen the resurrected Lord appear to them. Periods of darkness will fill our lives, but it’s not the end of our story, maybe it’s just the start of a new beginning...
